CAMA Alberta's Agri-food Convergence Event

CAMA Alberta is pleased to present: Agri-food Convergence, the premier event for professionals in the agriculture and agri-food industry. This year's event features a lineup of expert speakers and panelists discussing the latest trends and innovations in the sector.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from leading industry professionals on topics such as sustainable farming practices, the future of agri-tech, and the rise of Alberta’s agri-food industry. In addition, attendees can participate in interactive panel discussions with these industry experts on a variety of topics.

Nevin Rosaasen - Alberta Pulse Growers, Sustainability & Gov Relations Lead

Nevin Rosaasen is the Sustainability & Government Relations Lead for Alberta Pulse Growers. Nevin has worked at the provincial, national and international level in various policy and research capacities. Nevin holds a B.Sc. In Agriculture with an Agronomy major and Ag Econ minor from the University of Saskatchewan. He also holds a Graduate degree from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in International Trade Policy from Monterey, California. Nevin is actively involved with his Team Alberta policy counterparts working in the water, carbon and pesticide portfolios. Nevin also actively farms with his brother and parents on a grain, oilseed and pulse farm in Eastern Saskatchewan.

Chris Theal - Phyto Organix Foods Inc, President & CEO

Chris is the Founder, President & CEO of Phyto Organix Foods Inc. and has over 25 years of business and leadership experience as an Alberta entrepreneur. Phyto Organix is an independent Alberta-based innovator, processor, developer, and distributor of conventional and organic plant-based protein for the food and beverage industry. Phyto Organix's new processing facility will sustainably source local pulses to produce high-purity protein isolate. Chris is passionate about the ever-evolving agri-food industry, building relationships with local growers for providing high-quality feedstock and providing consumers a sustainable, healthy and novel food products.

Amanda Hehr - Sunterra Greenhouse, President

A born and raised Albertan and devout business builder, Amanda brings a fervent commitment to innovation and results-driven decisions to the companies she's founded, and those she serves. Today, Amanda finds herself in her most rewarding role yet as President of Sunterra Farms Greenhouse – a burgeoning company that has quickly established its leading role in ag-tech innovation, climate-controlled growing, and year-round food security. Amanda proudly oversees operations of its newly-opened 20-acre greenhouse in Acme, AB, with a crop yield of more than 1 million pounds of fresh produce per month, and a projected expansion toward 70 acres in the five years ahead.
