Marketing Communications Manager – Content Strategy

Position Overview:

As a member of a small team in a newly developed area of business, the Marketing Communications Manager will play an integral role, leading the development and execution of a content strategy across Twitter, LinkedIn, web, and other digital channels.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will own the overarching content strategy within a new industry of focus at TELUS. They will work closely and collaboratively with marketing leads and subject matter experts to build content that engages with key audiences; reinforcing both TELUS’ brand positioning and product marketing efforts. Specifically, the Marketing Communications Manager will be responsible for organizing and refining the development of thought leadership from newly acquired companies and managing all pertinent social channels.

They will be responsible for upholding a consistent, cohesive and compelling brand story. In addition, the role will be responsible for developing strong partner and influencer relationships within the industry to expand the pool of thought experts and extend content reach via social media. The successful candidate will also lead content and agenda development for an annual client conference.

Required Experience
Post-secondary education in communications or marketing
Seven+ years of experience in a communications role
Three+ years working in a social media focused marketing role
Strong understanding of social media platforms (Twitter & LinkedIn), strategies and best practices
Proven track record of driving results working in an environment with a high degree of autonomy
Exceptionally strong research, writing and editing skills
Proven ability to handle the stress of client expectations
