Marketing and Communications Coordinator

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and support of marketing and communications strategies and initiatives that enhance the organization’s brand and profile as the leading positive youth development organization in Canada.

Working closely with all members of the Marketing and Communications team, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will deliver compelling marketing and communications tactics, while ensuring they run efficiently, effectively, and within the parameters of brand guidelines.

Reports to: Marketing Manager

Responsibilities

  • Support in the planning and implementation of 4-H Canada’s marketing and communications strategies, goals and activities, including but not limited to: programs, initiatives and campaigns
  • Plan, write for and manage 4-H Canada’s social media channels, ensuring a consistent and engaging voice, tone and style for various audiences
  • Manage 4-H Canada’s websites, updating and creating new content
  • Plan and manage editorial and social content calendars
  • Assist with the content production and layout of email campaigns
  • Assist in the execution of club outreach initiatives, including drafting content, preparing marketing materials and coordinating shipping to clubs
  • Perform media monitoring and participate in public relations activities
  • Help source business intelligence information, gathering metrics and data from digital insights on a regular basis
  • Graphic design and marketing collateral for programs, events, initiatives, campaigns, alumni, sponsorships and government relations
  • Assist with the development of communications plans
  • Develop communications toolkits and related materials to assist stakeholders in the promotion of programs, initiatives and campaigns
  • Represent 4-H in a positive manner during any internal and external opportunities and assignments
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree or diploma in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field
  • Ideally two years of progressive marketing and/or communications experience, preferably from a not-for-profit background in the youth or agricultural fields
  • Experience managing social media channels across various platforms
  • Experience managing, updating and creating web content and possess a robust understanding of digital best practices and user experience
  • Excellent writing and content development skills
  • Strong graphic design skills, particularly using InDesign and Photoshop
  • Experience using email marketing services such as MailChimp or Constant Contact
  • Self-directed, with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • A high degree of professionalism, efficiency, creativity and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work a flexible schedule and travel at times
  • Demonstrated interest in the field of positive youth development
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal background check
  • Bilingualism is preferred
