This is a dynamic position that involves working with dozens of agricultural companies to plan, implement and deliver livestock exhibitor sales, programs and demonstrations at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show.

Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show (COFS) connect farmers with agricultural companies to see the latest innovation and technology in agriculture. Both events showcase products and services through interactive displays and live demonstrations of machinery, livestock, crops, niche markets, energy and more.

The opportunity:
Reporting to the President of COFS this position will coordinate the livestock area and support the Operations and Events Manager position. This role involves sales support, planning, implementation and programming coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Livestock exhibitor sales support, customer service
  • Coordinator for the Dairy Innovation Centre at COFS: responsible for managing all components for installation of the robotic dairy exhibit, work with suppliers and sponsors to create a successful, operating dairy barn, supervise animal care, hire and manage dairy intern
  • Coordinate livestock demonstrations at COFS
  • Support coordination of live animals on show site, exhibitor tracking forms, animal emergency plan & livestock team planning
  • Work with livestock related exhibitors to establish a livestock advisory committee
  • Support the Sponsorship Manager on livestock related sponsors & special events
  • Attend ag related industry events to promote COFS and to network with potential exhibitors
  • Support site office administration and execution of events at Canada’s Outdoor Park
  • This position may involve moderate to heavy lifting for event/show/summer maintenance
  • Coordinate additional programs as required

Requirements:

Additional Assets could include:

  • Knowledge of field crop and machinery industries
  • Past participation in 4-H clubs
  • Experience as a volunteer with agriculture based groups
