Registration is Open for CAMA's New Grow Our People Summit!

The new Grow Our People Summit was created for the two million people who work in agriculture and food in Canada – to invest in them, thank them and get them energized and equipped for the future.

People are at the heart of Canada’s food system and should be valued as the most important asset in any business. Summit attendees will leave the event with new skills, deeper networks, and a renewed sense of enthusiasm for our agri-food sector.  Author and kickoff speaker, Dr. Jeffrey Barnes, will set the stage and weave some Disney magic into the Summit with his inspiring call to action, “Be the hero in your own story.”

Sessions will be hosted by partners Agriculture in the Classroom Canada, Canadian Agri-Business Education Foundation, Canadian Agri-Food Marketers Alliance, Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council, Do More Ag, Outstanding Young Farmers, Rural Ontario Institute, and the team from Utensil.ca.

To provide the most value for travel budgets and time, this Summit is scheduled for the same week as three other prestigious events: the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Best of CAMA agri-food marketing awards, and the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The Grow Your People Summit will be held in person at the Sheraton Fallsview in Niagara Falls from November 2-4, 2022.

Registration for this ‘unconference’ event experience is now open at http://www.loft32.ca/growourpeople with options for the complete experience – or pick and choose what best fits your time and budget.

CAMA Offers Business Skills Sessions - Sales and Marketing Stream

Pitch Me IRL

It’s been a long stretch of Zoom meetings and virtual interactions. “Is my mic on? Can you see my screen?” With this digital divide separating us from real human connections, it’s likely that those first few “in real life” meet ups could be awkward, especially for teammates who are in new roles or recently joined an organization. But, whether you’re in a sales, marketing or HR role, those first few seconds of a face-to-face conversation can make or break your crucial first impression or pitch. So, join the CAMA skills session to arm yourself with the skills and knowledge you need to help sell your idea (or yourself) to anyone in a clear and concise way.

What Makes a Winning Pitch (Morning Session)
What makes up a good pitch? Breakdown the differences between a bad, good and great pitch and learn from some amazing Canadian entrepreneurs and small businesses about what they did to win over some Dragons. Hone your storytelling skills and learn from real pitch examples that were able to shine above the rest. Take notes because you’ll need them for Session 2!
