Our President, Robert Mensies, has worked in marketing for 15 years and has the pleasure of focusing on the livestock and food processing sides of agriculture. His company, Edge Marketing Strategies, merged with 6P Marketing last year, where he holds the title of Director of Client Strategy. Robert’s ag experience is complimented with 6P’s existing branding and strategic marketing services where ag sustainability and social license focus continues to occupy his time when not working to build CAMA Manitoba.
Mary Thornley, is CAMA Manitoba's Executive Director. She has been with CAMA for the past eleven years as Executive Director and is the Event Manager for Best of CAMA. Prior to CAMA, she spent 5 years as an Account Executive with Kahntact and AdFarm (Calgary). Mary is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce in Agricultural Business.
Amanda Meyer, Amanda has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba from the Faculty of Agriculture. She has joined CAMA Manitoba as the Professional Development chair and is currently the Vice President of the Chapter. “I look forward to leading the Chapter with the support of our great directors!”
Nathan Mitchell is Director – AgDealer and GFM Listings Platform at Glacier FarmMedia. Nathan has a BA in Environmental Sciences from the University of Manitoba and has worked previously with MacDon. He is excited to be part of the Manitoba chapter as Events chair.
Hiten Shah is the Territory Manager - Manitoba for The Western Producer. He is looking forward to connecting with CAMA members as the Membership chair.
Camila Jerger is the Business Development Manager for YES!Winnipeg. "I joined CAMA in March 2017. Being a member of CAMA provides me with a great opportunity to network with the local and national agri-marketing community and also keeps me informed about what’s happening in our industry. Since the very first Lunch & Learn that I participated I’ve noticed how engaging and supporting CAMA members are, and what an outstanding service the chapter provides in terms of learning, member connectivity and advocacy in agriculture."
Roberta Irvine is the owner of Food Propeller, a company which helps with pathfinding, sales and fund raising for small startup agri-food companies. Roberta is a Registered Dietitian with a food production background from the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Early in her career, Roberta ran her own nutrition education business and helped launch the Heart Smart Cooking Program in Manitoba. Roberta has worked in sales and marketing for Nestle Nutrition and Clintec Health Care and more recently was the Business Development Officer at the Food Development Centre. Past Board experience includes Manitoba Dietetics Association, Dietitians of Canada, Canadian Celiac Association (Manitoba Chapter) and the Horticultural Production Advisory Board at Assiniboine College. In her spare time, Roberta is trying to learn how to play her violin, much to her families regret!
Jodee Karlowsky is the Seed Marketing Coordinator for Alliance Seeds. "I started attending CAMA events as I was new to “marketing” having spent most of my agriculture career in other parts of the industry. The meetings and lunch and learns offered a convenient way to become more informed or to hear another perspective on how people approach, manage and solve a problem that I might also have. So for me, CAMA is about continuing to learn about marketing, the industry and making contact and developing relationships with people that have more expertise than I ever will and hopefully absorbing some of it. I am excited to become part of the CAMA board and working with the rest of the board and continuing to meet more members and of course to keep learning!"
Danielle Modjeski (on maternity leave)
Danielle Modjeski is the Marketing Communications Officer for BrettYoung Seeds. "I joined CAMA at the beginning of my career in Agri-Marketing career in 2013. I joined CAMA as a basis to network within the agri-marketing community and am happy to be a part of a team that brings educational and growth opportunities to its members."
Jeff English is Pulse Canada’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications. With his colleagues, he works on behalf of pulse growers, traders and processors to grow the volume and value of Canadian pulse crops in markets around the world. Jeff brings to the table more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, issues management and media relations. He has advised federal Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament on numerous agricultural, trade and food safety issues, most notably as Director of Communications and chief spokesperson for former Canadian Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz. Jeff has also worked for Think Shift, a leading agri-marketing agency, where he worked with clients large and small to think strategically about their public relations and marketing endeavours. Currently Jeff is leading the Communications portfolio with CAMA Manitoba.
Scott Gilmore is AGI’s Manager, Digital Products, and has been with AGI for three years. Scott oversees various digital products, innovations and solutions developed worldwide. Collaborating with different divisions, Scott works to provide producers and commercial developers with tools to improve sales and efficiency, as well as new and innovative ways to promote their product. Scott has over 15-years’ experience in Sales and Marketing, including time in retail, non-profit, client services and most recently agriculture. He understands the skills needed when working with a small budget and is driven by innovative products that can help different areas of agriculture. Scott has recently accepted the position of Professional Development Chair.
Alex Leslie is the CAMA MB Student Liaison with the University of Manitoba. "I am a CAMA member because I find the Lunch and Learns to be valuable networking experiences, and am able to gain knowledge not taught in the University courses I am enrolled in as I achieve my Agribusiness degree. I hope with this position I will be able to increase student engagement with CAMA, and help provide fellow students with more opportunities within the vast industry of agriculture."
