CAMA Ontario Donates Money to 4-H Council

The Best of CAMA organizing committee and the Ontario CAMA Chapter have donated money to the 4-H Council in lieu of thank you gifts to the 55 judges and 50 sponsors from the Best of CAMA event held on November 5, 2009 in Niagara Falls.

"We felt we could make more of an impact donating a lump sum to the 4-H Council as oppose to small individual gifts to our judges and sponsors," says Andrew Bawden, Co-Chair of the Best of CAMA event.  "We had judges and sponsors from across Canada and the 4-H Council was a perfect fit as the money will benefit 4-H clubs in each Province."

The Canadian 4-H Council provides relevant programs and services which are consistent with the 4-H philosophy and which serve to enhance the provincial 4-H programs. The Council organizes and coordinates national and international conferences, exchanges and scholarships which focus on citizenship, leadership development, career choices, technology transfer and other pressing issues being faced by today's rural communities and their young people.

The Council promotes the visibility of 4-H through national public relations initiatives, facilitates communication and information sharing between the provincial 4-H programs, develops recruitment and other resource materials and operates the National 4-H Supply Service, a mail order catalogue feauring 4-H promotional items. The Council was founded in 1933 and is a not-for-profit, non-governmental agency governed by a group of individuals representing our sponsoring organizations.
